Out of Necessity

Your words - Echoing
Inside a somber mind
Gives rise to emotions
Thought long ago to be
Suppressed
Not out of want, but
Necessity

Yes they do... and when you least want them to. Thanks!!
Deletesuppressed out of necessity...ouch
ReplyDeletekinda hoping they are good feelings though, you know...smiles.
They are good feelings, but at the wrong time... if that makes any sense! haha Thank you Brian!
Delete'of necessity' sounds so good there. I love 4 or 5 syllable words taking up a whole line, like in a haiku or this nicely shaped poem of yours.
ReplyDeleteI do too Aprille!! Thank you for coming by to read!
DeleteSometimes indeed we HAVE to find a way to suppress some thoughts / emotion. Perhaps not really to suppress them but to deal with them in a way that make them not continue to appear in our thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean... we need to safely put them away so that they remain, but not constant. Thanks Mary!
DeleteI've been there...so I know. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ayala for understanding... and coming by for a visit!
DeleteI can feel this, the need to hide, bury, forget
ReplyDeletepraying for sweet freedom and release
I appreciate how thoughtful you are. Thank you very much!!
DeleteThis is well crafted and had a ring of truth about it - good stuff... With Best Wishes Scott www.scotthastie.com
ReplyDeleteThank you Scott! It's the absolute truth!! I live it everyday!
DeleteI think this is an excellent expression of not giving up on emotions lost fighting for them bravely finding them before the end. Lovely words lovely friend smiles.
ReplyDeleteAwe, thank you very much!! I appreciate you stopping by and reading!
DeletePotent and emotive Dana. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteSo true--those things you thought you had hidden/exorcised and then they pop up their ugly little heads again. A sharp emotive poem--well done!
ReplyDeleteIt's full of emotion, Dana.
