Words Imprisoned

Words held prisoner
Behind quivering lips
Afraid...
Afraid to let them fly
To be heard
... and rejected

Thoughts, feelings, words burn within my soul and yearn to spill forth from my fingertips in the form of poetry...
Excellent...very direct and simple that could explain so many situations in this world.
ReplyDeleteYes it can... and I hope others are able to relate to it in some way. Thanks!
DeleteI think we have all been there at some point, afraid to speak for whatever the reason. I like the way you relate that to imprisonment, I have never looked at it that way.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was able to open up a new way of seeing things through my poem. That is why I do what I do! Thank you very much for visiting and reading!!
DeleteThe fear of rejection will keep our words imprisoned forever ~ Good one Dana ~
ReplyDeleteThanks Heaven... for someone who likes to express their feelings to others, it is very difficult not to do so.
DeleteI know that feeling, well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteZing. I know this feeling. Is this a fear we all share?
ReplyDeleteI think to a certain extent... we all may share this fear. Thank you for stopping by!
DeleteA common fear very well put
ReplyDeleteRejection does cause one to clam up. In a strange way it seems that we reject ourselves before others have a chance to when we fear it. This is one that I can relate to very well, and often still struggle with.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do think that fears of rejection keep a lot of good ideas unexpressed or shared. Whether in poetry or in other venues. Well penned.
ReplyDeleteBeing unable to express our concerns, our fears , the words wanting to escape but cannot, beautifully written.
