We are the same
You and I
Both lost
Incomplete
Souls
Shining like beacons
Upon a foggy shoreline
Searching to find the other

Lovely Dana. I like the thought of shining like beacons even when the shore is foggy. So aptly put.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Peggy!! I've missed posting and Poetry Jam so I'm glad I was able to write a poem for this great prompt!
DeleteI like this poem expressing the search to complete ourselves. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!!
DeleteSearching to find the other - Captures the anxiety of life, a search to discover what is real and what is a reflection. I Love this.
ReplyDeleteYes... we see ourselves reflected in others so we feel secure and cling to those who feel the most familiar. Always searching for those who will understand.
Deleteand hopefully we do find each other...the acknowledgement that we are all not that much different...that is def key or we might miss each other...smiles.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely would be tragic to continuously miss each other... as humans we thrive to feel complete.
DeleteI enjoyed this very much. Yes, we are all beacons in a sense, aren't we? We search for one another; and when we find one another this gives us joy! Glad you are here in Poetry Jam.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Mary! I do believe we all have lights within us... some shine brighter than others, but we all can still be found if we let ourselves.
Delete..perhaps, the search could be long... but when we get there... it's more than just happiness and we would feel it deep down our bones... short but volumes deep... thanks for the poem... smiles...
ReplyDeleteOh I agree! It's such an amazing feeling from what I've been told! Hopefully our journeys don't keep us from finding it for too long. Thank you Kelvin!
DeleteYes, we are all on the same soul-searching journey. Great poem!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laurie!
Delete... what a beautiful image ... souls shining like beacons upon a foggy shoreline ... short, but so satisfying!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan! I tend to write a lot of short poems... not sure why!
DeleteWe spend our lives searching ... you have described it beautifully and with elegance.
