Wandering
Wandering eyes, Wandering mind
Marred heart
Searching for that missing piece
Buried beneath fertile green earth
Feeding the roots of ancient trees
Cavorting among stars and mingling with the moon
Whispering hints with the aid of the wind
Like a lost lover
Kissing skin with each wave crashing upon the shore
Echoing through lonely mountain tops
A ghost among the shadows
Waiting, Wanting to be found
Longing to mend the hole
That would complete my soul

Beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteThank you Bethany!!
Deletethe globe in her eyes made me smile...and i hear her...searching...wanting to be found...felt
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudia! That picture was exactly what I had in mind when I was writing this!I love when the image goes so perfectly with the words.
DeleteThere's such a strong sense of longing in this - of yearning to be made complete. You've captured the mood really well.
ReplyDeleteThank you... I believe we must journey before we find all the pieces of ourselves.
DeleteI do think many people spend a lifetime searching for a missing piece, but perhaps if they would look within it would be there? And yes, the desire to be found...I think this is different than the search, but something all yearn for as well; and sometimes it happens. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteYour right... some only have to look within for the pieces to be found, then others have to look beyond themselves for a change and view the world around them.
Deletelonging to meld the hole that would make me whole...i wonder if we are not all looking for that some point...something to fill that void....and waiting to be found....nice....
ReplyDeleteIt's all about finding yourself and finding someone who will love you for you, completing both half's.
Deletethe journey of self discovery and touching the dynamic energy of the soul. thank you
ReplyDeleteThank YOU Tracy!!
DeleteI like that wanting to mend the scarred and missing part of our heart ~ Hopefully the wandering will not be long; if not,
ReplyDeleteour life will be incomplete. Have a lovely day/night ~
I figure it will take as long as it's suppose to... when the time is right the world will come together.
DeleteI think this resonates with all of us, the longing to fill the emptiness with love... it's the one thing that can :)
ReplyDeleteLove really does conquer all, but you must find the strength within you and love yourself first before you can love another.
DeleteDana, this is a new favorite of yours. Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThank you Ayala!! I really appreciate that!
DeleteThis is a well written poem of yearning. I especially felt this line: Echoing through lonely mountain tops
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to go on a journey to discover how to love yourself which can take you to places you've never been.... just to find out that it's been with you every step of the way.
DeleteOh yes... I liked that...!
ReplyDeleteHi Dana,
ReplyDeleteTruly enjoyed this one I could feel the emotions in the words.
There is always a part of the heart missing that makes the story turn. Enjoyed your voice and use of language.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think this is what most of us end up searching for, and we all find it in different places. Intriguing write!
ReplyDeleteVery touching. This reminds me of a dear friend who is taking their first tentative steps in searching for a new life partner, years after losing her first.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
