The Truth Lives

Speaking thoughts, fears
Slipping past trembling lips
Breathing life into syllables, sounds
Professing them absolute
There's no going back
No denying what was spilled
Only Truth lives here now

Please leave me your thoughts below. I do love reading them!
Strong piece, great mood crafted in a poem of this one's size, really effective line choices and image. Excellent end line. Really liked this a lot. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking the time to stop in!Your words are very encouraging!
DeleteHmmmm, interesting. Loved the choice of a photo. To me it was showing that once the door is opened, the words risked, we have a chance to see ourselves. A clear revealing feeling to the poem.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly! I'm so glad you connected the door because I was worried it wouldn't make sense. Thanks for stopping by!
Deletenice....tight little poem....truth is something we often bottle and dont let out, but once we speak it, or speak anything we cant take it back..it is out there...and better it truth than otherwise...
ReplyDeleteExactly! As much as you try to deny them, once you say the words they are out there and the truth of the matter has been told!
DeleteDana, I like this one a lot. Feels like your are writing about a life changing moment.
ReplyDeleteI am! It's the moment when the truth was finally realized and set free! Thanks Sabra. I always appreciate it when you stop by!
DeleteI really believe that the shortest distance between two points is to tell the truth; and in the end, though it may be hard, it is the very best way to solve a problem.
ReplyDeleteI also think you may be writing about poetry. Once the words are on the page (in the blog) the author has claimed them as their own 'truth' and they STAND proud!
Once the words have spilled from my thoughts... it doesn't matter how they were presented, whether it be vocally or written. The outcome is still the same, they are given life and can't be denied.
DeleteI love this! "No denying what was spilled, the Truth lives here now" Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sara! I really appreciate you stopping by for a visit and a read!
Delete"Breathing life into syllables..." is my favorite line. Because its true. Once we give the words voice, life, they are unfettered, unbound, set free, and we can no longer know or define their journey. And I love the photo! So apropos!
ReplyDeleteThat can be a very good thing...or a very bad thing...but once it's out there...truth is impossible to take back. This is fantastic Dana! Loved it...lots of ways for the mind to run with this one
ReplyDeleteLove this Dana. Oh the times I said something only to wish it unsaid the next minute. Completely understanding. :)
ReplyDeleteI specially like the last line, the truth lives here now, is a good motto ~ Thanks for sharing ~
ReplyDeleteThis is great...I've learned that truth equals to freedom.
ReplyDeleteHow true. Words do take on a life of their own once they were uttered. NIcely put, Dana. :-)
ReplyDeletei often think that in the syllables we write into words is more truth than when we talk to someone...dunno...think i' ve more freedom to write my emotions in words than talking about them..
ReplyDeleteDiamonds, my darling!
