It's Not Complicated, but I Am
By: patriciaegreen |
What I was...
Who I am
Shouldn't matter
Just tell me
How do I make you feel?
Do my words pulsate through your body,
Lulling you into a state of understanding?
Do my eyes tell you things
My mouth can not say?
Does my caress propel chills up your spine?
Does my poetry kiss you in places
That have previously been ignored?
Tell me...
How do I make you feel?
... and that's what matters

smiles...yes it is one of the things that matter...smiles...and if we can make them feel just a bit more alive even for a moment is it not worth it? smiles.
ReplyDeleteExactly! You've got it right. I want to make people feel more alive... just as they would any time their senses are heightened.
DeleteVery immediate, and I love a good bare bones delivery like this that seems straightforward but is stuffed to capacity with subtlety and the odd telling phrase. Thanks for joining us tonight.
ReplyDeletei like does my poetry kiss you in places you've never been kissed before...that is cooool and profound
ReplyDeleteI can't exactly describe how it makes me feel...but I may have to seek medical help after four hours.
ReplyDeleteHehe... love it!
DeleteI like the question approach...if the poet's words touches me, I am sure to tell the writer...I think its important to give such feedback ~
ReplyDeleteI do too. Sometimes the poet really needs to hear an honest opinion.
DeleteAha! Good questions here! k.
ReplyDeletePowerful and emotive... beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for visiting! This hasn't been the best poem I've ever wrote, but my brain is on vacation this week and this was the result.I really appreciate the wonderful comments!
ReplyDeletei like when poetry makes me feel things i couldn't feel before and kisses me in places i have ignore previously...and it does and can...that's one of the things i love about poetry..smiles
ReplyDeleteYes, without feeling what have we left?
ReplyDeleteI love the way poetry moves us... Brings us life !
ReplyDeleteYes,yes, yes!Feeling, breathing, loving, seeing... the senses are simple pleasures of life.
DeleteI agree about the "question approach" - I like asking questions in my poetry, and not necessarily having the answers. Well done.
ReplyDeletea journey
