Someday Soon (hopefully)

Some things come naturally to me like writing poetry and mothering my three boys. Some things I tend to struggle with like writing anything longer than a short story, guest posting, and my self  esteem. Hell... I find myself hesitating to press the publish button on my short stories as well. It doesn't mean that I don't like or want to write them.
Actually, it's the opposite. I want (now more than ever) to step out of my comfort zone, to take a chance. The very thing that causes me to write with emotion and honesty keeps me from truly branching out. You know the old saying, The only thing stopping me... is me.
Even with all the beautiful words of wisdom and advice I receive, I still haven't set myself free. I don't understand why, but I'm working on it.

  1. I know exactly how you feel. Just keep inching away from that comfort zone and you get there. Wherever "there" is... You'll know when you get there. ;-)

    1. Thanks Rebecca. Sometimes I don't know where "there" is!I'm hoping the new MNINB blog will help take me though!

  2. You will get there...wherever there is! I don't know why it's so hard to believe in yourself either, but I just keep on trying, even on the rough days. Maybe it will get easier someday!

    1. I'm sure it will get a little easier. I'm just beginning to really put myself out there and I guess that's why I'm so anxious about it all.

  3. Know exactly what you mean! Wrote this poem to describe these feelings for myself -- and to try to encourage me to "Fear Less". (Sometimes it works, sometimes,... not so much): http://wanponpopix.blogspot.com/2012/03/fear-less.html

To have great poets... there must be great audiences
~ Walt Whitman

Thank you for being that audience!
